This study was undertaking to investigate or look into impact of mortgage financing on Nigeria economy with a case study of Federal Mortgage bank of Nigeria limited, Kontagora House Marina Lagos.
Prior to the commencement of this study, the research had the belief that mortgage financing on Nigeria economy is not really enhancing any meaningful impacts as expected. However, this belief is no longer relevant because a lot of information have been revealed through the questionnaire of this study. these information will no doubt provide answers to numerous questions agitating the minds of many people who wish to know more of mortgage financing on the Nigeria economy.
The introduction part of the research work as it can be seen in chapter one dealt mostly with the purpose of the study, the statement of problems, the length of the study as specified by the scope and limitation of the study and also a brief history of the company under review. Also chapter two of this research is about the literature reviews. This shows the opinion of the people been documented about the topic under which we can embrace the appreciation and better comprehension of this project. However, chapter three explains the method used in collection of the data for this project. The sources of the data which the researchers used include primary and secondary source. Also used is personal interviews and questionnaire. Questionnaire is the only instrument the researcher used since it was easy for the staff of the Federal Mortgage Bank Nigeria Limited to discuss financial information through it to an outsider.
The chapter four is about presentation and analysis of data being gathered in chapter three through questionnaire. The questionnaire was administered to the staff and customers of the bank to be filled and returned though, some of the questionnaires were not returned.
The summary is based on administered questionnaire returned to the researcher, which sheds more light on the nature of mortgage financing on Nigeria economy. Finally, the last chapter dealt on summary, findings, conclusion and recommendation. On investigation the researcher was able to discover the following;
1.        That there is a problem of loan recovery advance to customers
2.        That the problem of resources mobilization for long term lending so as to respond to the variety of demands
3.        That although there are many institutions involved in housing finance, their level of activities have been rather relative too small to demand.
